CAO Flathead V23 Racing To Retail This Week

Auto racing and premium cigars come together once again with the newest CAO Flathead from General Cigar Co. In keeping with the brand’s automotive theme, the CAO Flathead V23 MK1 660 is a tribute to the GT40 series, Ford’s classic American racecars that became famous by dominating at the 24 hours of Le Mans car race, winning in 1966 through 1969. The 1966 race in particular—when a Ford GT40 MKII broke Ferrari’s era of dominance—made the car a legend.

The limited-edition cigar is heading to retailers tomorrow.

Measuring 6 inches by 60 ring gauge, the MK1 660 is made with the signature blocky box-pressing and notably flat head that the brand is known for. It consists of a Honduran wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and filler from Honduras and Nicaragua. Like most CAO cigars, the MK1 660 is produced in Nicaragua at the STG Estelí factory.

The cigars, which will retail for $13.99 apiece, come packaged in a GT-inspired, 20-count box lined with material made to resemble tufted leather seats. The colors are a nod to the car’s “Gulf Oil” blue-and-orange paint job.
